ADC Pfutsero, Japheth Woch NCS has informed that unusual death of pigs is being reported from Phusachudu village and the pigs were found to be affected with high fever and anorexia. Similar reports were also received from Pfutsero town and villages under Pfutsero Sub-Division. The collection of blood samples of the affected pigs and post-mortem on carcass has been carried out for further Lab testing. Therefore, as recommended by the Assistant Veterinary Surgeon, Pfutsero, the Inter-village transportation of pigs/piglets (both live and slaughtered) to Pfutsero town or vice versa from the affected village/areas shall remain restricted with immediate effect.

Any person who intends to slaughter pigs may obtain clearance from the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Pfutsero to ensure that livestock is in good health.
