The 5th inter ward tournament kicked off at Pfutsero Sports Complex with Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue & Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu, as the guest speaker for the opening ceremony on 20th October 2021.
Speaking on the occasion, the guest speaker said that the pandemic has affected the economy and that there is a need to recover, and that the government is working hard to recover the losses. He said that the Chief Minister, who is also the president of Nagaland Olympic Association, is serious in the field of sports and will develop sportspersons in the state.
Kronu encouraged the players by saying that sportspersons are highly respected around the world and that sports is a highly lucrative profession. He called upon all to play with team spirit and sportsmanship.
ADC Pfutsero, Japhet Woch in his greetings encouraged the players to take sports as a career.
The four-day event is being organised by Pfutsero Town Sports Association from 20th October to 23rd October 2021, football for men and volleyball for women. President PTSA, Kekhrozulo Ritse, delivered the presidential address while oath taken by Sports Secretary PTSA, Zuveta Khamo. Altogether, 11 wards from Pfutsero town are participating in the tournament
