NOKLAK:

Along with the rest of the world, Noklak district hq. observed the 11th International Day of Yoga under the theme ' Yoga for one Earth one health' at Multi-Discipline Sports Complex, Noklak on 21st June 2025.

EAC Noklak Bangjunglemba, who was the special guest during the occasion, said that we share one planet, one home. When we look at the ancient practice of yoga, it teaches us to live with mindfulness, to take only what we need, and to treat all forms of life with respect. From Ahimsa (non-violence) to Aparigraha ( Non-possessiveness), yoga philosophy teaches us how to live sustainably.

He mentioned that, in recent years, especially during the pandemic, we have seen how important our physical and mental health is. Yoga offers powerful tools for both. Regular practice improves flexibility, strength, immunity and helps prevent many lifestyles diseases.

When individuals are healthy, communities are healthy. And when communities are healthy, the whole world thrives, he added. Let us use today not just to perform asanas, but to reflect and act. He urged the people to understand how we can bring yoga into our daily lives, not just on the mat, but in our behaviour, in our food habits and our thinking

Further, he elaborated that yoga for one earth, one health is not just a slogan. It is a mission- a call to live in harmony, with compassion, and with purpose. On this special day, let us rededicate ourselves to the path of yoga-not just as a personal practice, but as a global movement of healing and hope.

Dr. Hukiye RMO, IAH, delivered a brief overview on IDY while Yoga Instructor, IAH Medolenuo, led the Yoga session.

The programme was jointly organised by Noklak District Administration and SANKALP: District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, Noklak, in collaboration with Integrated Ayush Hospital, Noklak.
