The Nagaland Joblinks portal of the Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Department, https://joblinks.nagaland.gov.in was launched by Advisor Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Industries & Commerce, Imnatiba on 26th June 2020 at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima.
Advisor Imnatiba stated that under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, the High Powered Committee during its meeting on 10th June had directed the Department of Labour & Employment, Skill Development& Entrepreneurship to register all returnees for skill development training for self employment in the State.
The department with the active participation of the Information Technology & Communication department had developed the joblinks portal, a holistic system, to align youth aspirations with the available employment opportunities in the State. He stated that on the portal, job seekers and employers can register themselves wherein the portal will act as a platform to connect job seekers with Employers in private sector establishments initially.
The Advisor further informed that Skill Training institutions / organizations will be added in due course of time to enable and assist any registered individual with re-skilling or upgrading to suit to local business and economic conditions. There is also a plan to include Financial Institutions such as Banks to provide financial loans for registered individuals who want to startup their own businesses, he added.
The portal will also soon include Registration of all who plan to work outside the State, so as to enable quick assistance during emergencies or time of need.
Imnatiba stated that all unemployed people including returnees are to register in the portal via https://joblinks.nagaland.gov.in. This will enable the Government to assess the skill sets available in the State and also plan for economic sectors which can be taken up in Nagaland and the kind of re-skilling or up-skilling programmes required to rejuvenate the State Economy and also provide for employment.
The Advisor appealed to all Private Sector Employers both within the State and elsewhere to register on the Portal for sourcing local Naga job seekers directly from the JobLinks Portal.
Commissioner & Secretary Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Asenla Keitzar expressed gratitude to the IT Department for creating the dashboard in the shortest period of time. She also added that the portal will help the Government build up accurate data base of job seekers within the State and those going out seeking for employment outside that Sate.
The State IT Department gave a brief presentation of the newly launched website.
