The first edition of the Kezama Village Millet Festival organised by the Kezoma Village Council in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and assisted by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, was held on 30th August 2025 at Zakie Ground, Kezoma, Kohima District.

Y. Vikheho Swu, President NDPP Agri & Allied Organisation and Managing Director, Okusa Toyota, graced the occasion as the special guest. Speaking at the event, the special guest emphasised the importance of millet as a climate-resilient crop, noting its health benefits such as being rich in fibre, minerals, and gluten-free, while also boosting farmers’ income and ensuring food security. Highlights of the programme included folk tunes, speeches from village leaders, and glimpses of the rich agricultural traditions of Kezoma.

The festival aims to promote millet cultivation, create awareness of its nutritional value, and encourage younger generations to continue traditional farming practices.
