The inauguration ceremony of the Multi Utility Hall-cum-Khuvie Festival was held on 6th September 2025 at the Multi-Utility Hall, Nerhema Village, Kohima District.
Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the hall and declared the festival open. While addressing, Dr. Rio said that the unity of the Village has brought a successful program and congratulated the Village leaders for the successful completion of the Multi-utility Community Hall under the Tribal Affairs and Local Area Development project (Iconic fund) to provide sufficient space for mass gathering and the Department for organising the Festival to preserve and promote organic farming culture.
Earlier, the Chief Minister while inaugurating the Elders Forum Building at Chiephobozou, encouraged the the Forum to nourish today's youths by correcting "what is right, wrong and what is forbidden by imparting them with their wisdom and experiences for a better future.
Delivering a short speech, Ayieno Hibo, Director of the Horticulture Department said that the occasion was not just about the crops but "it was about our farmers, our traditions and the strength of our local produce". She said that farmers have nurtured the crop for generations where their knowledge, patience and dedication have kept the khuvie cultivation alive. She suggested that Khuvie has much potential, with proper storage, processing and value addition would reach wider markets and create better income for the farming community. She encouraged the gathering to continue supporting the farming community and carry our traditions forward. She urged the farmers to contribute to fulfilling the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. She informed that the value addition programmes would also be imparted to farmers in future.

Vilanyü Usou, Pastor of NBC; Welcome address by Vingutuo Rutsa, Chairman of Nerhema Village Council; Building Report by Neiketouzo Kengurüse, Member of Organising Committee; Short Speech delivered by Dr. Kruolalie Tsürho, Team Leader of NBRM. A special song was presented by Thejaneinuo Kiewhuo and Harmony voice respectively, and the Vote of thanks was delivered by Sevilie Kerhiio, President of Nerhemia Dzevi Houzha.
