Agriculture Production Commissioner, Nagaland, Kikheto Sema, IAS, inaugurated the outlet of ‘Naturally Nagaland’ in Kohima on 1st November 2021.
In his inaugural speech, he stated that Naturally Nagaland is to fulfill the commitment of the State Government wherein Chief Minister & Minister-in-charge of Finance budget speech on 18th February 2021, emphasizing on the importance of Agri & Allied products, for promotion of farmers and entrepreneurs products and sell under the banner of Naturally Nagaland.
He informed that first outlet was launched at 4th mile, Dimapur on 9th July 2021. He highlighted that, the responsibility of State Government is to provide hand holding to the farmers and entrepreneurs to come forward to produce more and sell their products. The products of Naturally Nagaland are all organic and naturally grown in the beautiful State of Nagaland. All SHGs, Farmers and entrepreneurs may have their own name which can be promoted and sell under Naturally Nagaland. He expressed happiness to see that all products are from different districts of Nagaland.
Sema further stated that, Naturally Nagaland has been conceptualized by State Govt. under the initiative of former Chief Secretary, Lt. Temjen Toy in November 2019 who has a vision to promote farmers, entrepreneurs, SHGs of Nagaland. He expressed his happiness to see all Agri & Allied departments, Rural Development (NSRLM), DUDA, Hand loom & Handicrafts and Missions like Honey, Bio Resource etc. are well coordinating and encouraging farmers, SHGs and entrepreneurs to come forward and show case their products under Naturally Nagaland. This will go a long way to increase production and will be able to create employment to the young entrepreneurs.
The APC stated that, State Government would like to see that Naturally Nagaland products goes out of the State like Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Shillong, Bangalore etc. so that our children who are studying there feel at home by getting our own products and also to reach out to the other people. He also expressed his appreciation to the department of Horticulture and NSAMB for sending the products despite pandemic. Kikheto Sema thanked all officers involved for the success of making the concept of Naturally Nagaland into reality and encouraged to give more efforts to increase the income of farmers, SHGs and entrepreneurs to build the economy of the State.
Additional Director, DUDA, Dr. Anungla, stated that, it is a window to present the Agri & Allied, handicraft & Handloom products of Nagaland by being mindful of the quality control and value addition of all finished and processed products in order to meet the prescribed bench mark and quality of each products that goes out in the market in Nagaland and outside.
Nutrition value of each product is made to help consumer identify the nutrition content along with FSSAI registration of products. Packaging of the products have been made to ensure to mention the origin of every product that sells under Naturally Nagaland. She also informed the officers present in the programme that Dimapur outlet is doing well in promoting as well as facilitating the sale of products.
The function was attended by the officers of Agri & Allied Deptts, Rural Development (NSRLM), DUDA, Hand loom & Handicrafts and Mission team members.
