Due to high rise of drugs abuse in Kiphire district, the GBs, District administration, Police Officers and all the Ward Chairmen and organisations destroyed ganja in and around Kiphire town jurisdiction. The team, after thoroughly investigating the scenario and the environment, found that many teenagers are indulging in drugs and this has led to drugs abuse in the district.

The team also resolved that if any individual or groups are found involving in dealing and selling of drugs, they will be expelled from Kiphire district for 10 years, and if any person is involved in using drugs and ganja, he/she will be taken for public procession along with all the members of the house.

In order to stop all these kind of practices, on 31st August 2022, ganja which was collected from all the 11 Wards, was destroyed outside the GB's Court, Kiphire town.
