DPDB Kiphire Chairman and Deputy Speaker NLA, Yangseo T Sangtam convened the first-ever DPDB meeting on 7th June 2022 at Pungro subdivision. The meeting was attended by all Heads of Offices and new members- Robin, Additional Deputy Commissioner ADC, Kiphire, United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP), Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC), Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH), and Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC). The DPDB chairman conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to all the representative head of offices for their relentless support in making Kiphire District progressive in all-around development. Chairman expressed confidence that through the unity, the District would be elevated to new heights. During this meeting, the following agendas were discussed and approved for further action to meet the people's aspirations.
1. Construction of food processing unit at Seyochung Town.
2. Creation of primary health centre at Jenty Village.
3. To sanction a fund for repair & renovation of the District house at the state training centre, Nerhema (Bharat Scouts and Guides).
4. To construct functional drinking water facilities in all Govt. schools under Kiphire District.
5. To upgrade GMS Kiphire station B to GHS.
6. Approved LADP schemes 2022-2023 for two constituencies including iconic project and common pool schemes Under Kiphire District.
7. To construct Green Scout school at Kiphire.
Pungro Sub Divisional Development & Planning Board was launched today at Pungro. The meeting was chaired by Vice-chairman SDPDB Mhomo Tungoe, ADC Pungro, and acknowledged the Government for approving the SDPDB on 21st January 2022.
Pastor Pungro Town Baptist Church, Tsuyihba invoked God's blessings. Addressing the gathering, Pungro GBs union President, JP Shahoto conveyed his heartfelt gratitude as it was a long-desired goal of the people since 2013. President PFPS, Kongsu V cited that the inception of the board will uplift the Subdivision in many aspects and unite the people to progress. TTC Secretary, Philip also urged the people to work collaboratively in any development activities. Executive Chairman YTC Makhezho expressed the need to work collaboratively. Chairman SDPDB Yangseo congratulate the people of Pungro Sub-Division and thanked the Nagaland Government led by the chief minister for approving the Board and thus fulfilling the dreams of the concerned division. SDPDB Pungro has approved the proposed agendas which will be duly forwarded to Government for implementation.
1. Creation of Village Guard (VG) post at all the newly recognized villages under the Pungro subdivision.
2. 21 villages under Pungro and Kiusam circle to establish Govt. GPS schools.
3. Shorih colony Pungro to establish one Govt. school GPS.
4. To set up Information Assistant (IA) IPR at Kiusam and Khongsa Town.
5. Khongka village to re-upgrade from GPS to GMS.
6. Kiusam circle to have separate RD Block.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Forest Officer Chisayi initiated the plantation drive on account of World Environment Day along with all the Heads of Offices and representatives from tribal bodies. Chisayi encouraged the entire concerned citizen to keep the importance of environmental stability to fight global warming and to maintain a balanced ecosystem if we yearn to live a better life.
