A one-day training on the issuance and distribution of Voter Information Slip (VIS) for Block Level Officers (BLOs) of Kohima District was held at DC's Conference Hall on 22nd February 2023.

The training of BLOs was held according to the Assembly Constituency wise as per the given time schedule. During the training, General Observer Janak Prasad Pathak said Voter Information Slip (VIS) is not just an ordinary paper but an important document in the election process and asked the BLOs to treat VIS with due respect while distributing it to the voters. General Observer M.J. Pradip Chandran asked the BLOs to ensure that all the eligible electorates are distributed without leaving anyone, he also informed that distribution should be completed on or before 24th February 2023.

Earlier, AEO Kohima, Olivi Thurr informed the BLOs that Photo Voter Slip (PVS) is being replaced by Voter Information Slip (VIS) and therefore asked the BLOs to follow the new guidelines of the ECI to ensure a hassle-free election process. The AEO informed that VIS along with Issue Register and Guidelines for BLOs will be given after the training and also asked BLOs to submit undistributed Slips to the DCs office on or before 12:00 Noon on 24th February 2023.
