Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held in DPDB's Conference Hall Kohima on 15th July 2022. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB, Kohima, Shanavas C IAS.
Presenting the activities of the District Health Society, Chief Medical Officer Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo highlighted the observation of World Population Day & Fortnight conducted under the theme “Adopt family planning measures and write a new chapter of progress” from 27th June to 24th July 2022. She informed that the world population day consisted of two parts – mobilization fortnight from 27th June to 10th July 2022 and population fortnight from 11th to 24th July 2022.
On COVID Vaccination, Dr. Theyo informed that under the age group of 18+ beneficiaries, a total of 73.14% have been covered while from 15 to 18 years – 55.64%, 12 to 14 years – 10.46% and Precaution Dose was 36.61%.
She informed that free COVID Precaution Dose for the 18 to 59 age group who have crossed six months from the date of their 2nd dose can avail of the facility from Government CVCs from 15th July 2022 onwards, which will continue for 75 days. She further informed that one confirmed Dengue positive case from Kohima town was reported on 13th July 2022. Besides the other activities, she also highlighted the activities of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakaram (RBSK) and the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM).
On the agenda of society registration, the house decided to recommend the following society for registration to the government: Life Connect Nagaland; Nagaland State Social Audit Agency; CUE Academy Educational Society; Spartan Gym Society, and Nagaland Yogasana Sports Association. The meeting also decided to recommend Kohima College Alumni Association, which was taken up in the last meeting to the government for necessary action.
On the agenda of NOC for Kohima District Construction Workers Union, the house decided to keep the matter for now as the Asst. Labour Commissioner, Zaremo Kikon. has informed the house that the department is not taking up such an issue at the moment as per the Government’s Order.
During the meeting, DC reminded the departments of the banned on Single Used Plastic (SUP) w.e.f. 1st July 2022 as notified by the government and requested the departments not to use water bottles less than 20 liters in offices or during office meetings. He informed that various activities including conduct of surprise checking will be taken up very soon and the defaulters will be penalized.
Updates on the progress of Village Adoption Committees were highlighted by the conveners where DC requested the committees to initiate the activities in their respective adopted wards/villages at the earliest.
Other highlights of the meeting included a presentation by National Helpline for Senior Citizens, Nagaland, and presentations by various societies for registration.
