            The monthly Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS in the DPDB's Conference Hall Kohima on 17th February 2021 in presence of MLA, Keneizhakho Nakhro.

            Reviewing the last meeting minutes, on registration of new societies applied by Jotsoma Nature Conservation Eco Tourism (JNCET), MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro clarified on the issue and added that the primary objective is to conserve and protect the environment by maintaining the community reserve forest area for the interest of everyone. In this regard, the house decided to direct the area Administration officer to verify and get required clarification and the Screening Committee to verify the rest applicants and present their reports in the next meeting.

            On the day's agenda for registration of societies and opening of new School, the house decided to approve and forward the matter to the Government for necessary action basing on the Screening Committee's recommendation on fulfilling all the criteria and presentation of their aims and objective by the respective representatives. The applicants for societies included, Agriculture Officers Association, Nagaland, Directorate of Agriculture Department; Beautiful Minds Centre for Child Development located at Lower Bayavü Colony, Kohima and Pfushang Zie Cultural Society, Tesophenyu Village Tseminyu while opening of new school by Beanstalk Pre-School at D. Block Colony, Kohima Town.

            On COVID-19, the chairman informed on the ongoing Covid vaccination taking place under the district. He said that vaccination for Health Care Workers have been conducted successfully and for Frontline Workers is underway, where he appealed the members to propagate the importance of the vaccine to the people in own areas and get registered to have maximum number of FLWs vaccinated.

            On the agenda of Development of public park in all District Headquarters in Nagaland, District Planning Officer & Member Secretary Kohima, Pudusul Luho informed the house on the Cabinet decision for construction of public park at Botanical Garden and Nagaland University Campus under Kohima district, where the house also decided to forward it to the Government for further action. 

            In regard to the construction of Sub-Centre at Mengujuma Village-submitted by the Chairman DPDB, MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro informed that considering the necessity of public health centre in the area and in order to facilitate their basic requirements, the proposal has been submitted based on the DPDB guidelines, where the House also decided to recommend it to the government.

            PowerPoint presentation on National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) was given by District Project Officer Tuberculosis, Dr. Asuno while EE R&B (South), Er. Vizotuo Seletsu also presented on its Departmental activities. Department of Land Resources and PHE Urban were entrusted to present their activities report in the next DPDB Meeting.
