Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DPDB’s Conference Hall, Kohima on 16th August 2021 chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS in the presence of Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire.

The meeting reviewed the last meeting minutes where DC reminded and requested all Village Adoption Committees to chalk out its programme and to start the process at the earliest.

On the agenda for development of public parks under Kohima district, which has been earlier identified by the Government i.e. Botanical Garden, Kohima and Nagaland University Campus, Meriema, the meeting discussed on the matter and constituted a committee with seven members from various departments headed by ADC Kohima to work out the detail project proposal for the approval of DPDB and for onward submission to the Government.

Other concern issues on the exercise of unregulated water pipeline and plastic free within Kohima town were also taken up during the meeting, where DC said that activities in clearing the unregulated pipelines in few worst affected areas and checking of prohibited plastic items were undertaken by the district administration along with some other departments and concerned colony authorities during the year 2019. However, he informed that with the present pandemic the exercise could not be conducted for the past year and months where the re-surface of prohibited plastic items and re-appearance of water pipelines have being observed. The meeting has therefore decided to look into these concerned issues and take up further action in due course of time. In this connection, a committee for streamlining the water pipeline was also constituted during the meeting.

Senior Treasury Officer, Kohima, Vechiso Chakhesang gave a PowerPoint presentation on the structure of Government Accounts, classification of accounts, learning to read-demand for grants and the index of classification. Social Welfare department was entrusted to present its departmental activities report in the next DPDB meeting.
