The Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for October was held under the chairmanship of MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro in DPDB’s conference hall, Kohima on 17th October 2022. The meeting was chaired by ADC Kohima Rhosietho Nguori.
On the agenda of setting up of ATM Booth at Sechü, Zubza Hq. and Mobile Network Tower at Dzülekie, the house deliberated on the matters and after taking note of the requirement and necessity, it was decided to recommend the setting up of the ATM to the DLC under Lead Bank Forum and for Mobile tower, it was decided to take up with the BSNL for necessary actions.
On registration of societies; the house decided to recommend the Emerging Society, Below Oriental Collage, Kohima to the Government. It was also decided to recommend the Nagaland Development Board, Naga Bazaar, Kohima on the condition to comply with the board's suggestions made during the meeting. The Board further recommended the Tsieramia Council, Kohima Village for registration while reviewing the last meeting minutes. The agenda on the up-gradation of GMS to GHS, Lower Chandmari, Kohima was deferred to the next DPDB meeting.
Besides the agenda, the house also took up the report on social media regarding the shifting of regional taxis beyond the limit of Kohima Municipal Council. SDO C Sadar informed the members that the decision of shifting the regional taxis to ISBT, Kohima which is around three (3) Km away from Kohima town was taken up after a series of RTA meetings with all the concerned stakeholders and the primary objective of this step was to ease the traffic congestion within the Kohima town. The house was also informed that the RTA before shifting the taxi stand took the following measures keeping in mind the welfare of the commuters:
- Reduced the Kohima –Dimapur Taxi fare from Rs.350/- to Rs.330/-
- Dedicated NST (4 Nos) and Smart City buses (4 Nos) were pressed into service to ferry passengers back and forth from Kohima town to ISBT apart from Local taxis.
- Rates of bus and taxi services plying from Kohima to ISBT and other destinations have been fixed by RTA to deter any random excess charges.
In this regard, the rates of bus and taxi services were once again reiterated for the consumption of the members as well as for the public.
Local Taxis:- Phoolbari to ISBT, Kohima -Full hire Rs.160/- and Rs. 40 per head; High School Junction to Phoolbari- Full hire Rs. 150/- and Rs.40 per head; High School Junction to ISBT- Full hire Rs.280/- and Rs.70/- per head, High school junction to KMC Tata Parking - Full hire Rs.80/- and Rs. 20 per head; Razhu Point to Keyake Tri-Junction – Full hire-Rs.160/- and Rs.40 Per head, BOC to ISBT- Full Hire Rs.160/- and Rs.40/- per head, PHQ junction to KMC Chaü Parking – Full Hire Rs. 80/- and Rs.20/- per head.
City bus (per head): Phoolbari and NST station to ISBT- Smart City Bus Rs.30/- and NST bus Rs.20/-, Lerie to Police Project Office, New Reserve, Phesama - Rs. 10/-; High school junction to New Secretariat - Rs.10/- and New Secretariat to NPSC junction - Rs.10/-.
The social media report about extra charges being levied by the taxis has been viewed seriously by the RTA and it was informed that strict action will be initiated against such defaulters to the extent of cancellation of taxi license. In this regard, the citizens were requested to ensure that appropriate information such as providing the taxi registration number to the authorities (DC Office) or the ANTA helpline number (Ph.No-9436694693) are given for follow-up action.
Departmental presentation on POSHAN MAAH 2022 was presented by Akali District Welfare Officer from Social Welfare Department; HIV/AIDS Scenario by the PLHIV in the District presented by Sentimongla Tzudir, District Programme Officer, District Aids Prevention & Control Unit, Kohima and Community support for the patient with T.B presented by Dr. Chibenthung Kithan District T.B. Officer.
