The Kohima District Task Force meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie NCS in his office chamber on 13th July 2020. Legislators in-charge of Kohima district Minister for Housing & Mechanical (PWD), Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire attended the meeting 

     The meeting had a lengthy discussion on the issue of Bethel Kitchen submitted by the Food Committee requesting for exit plan of the kitchen which has been catering food for all the Quarantine Centres at Kohima. After much deliberation upon the pros and cons of running the kitchen till date, the DTF led by the in-charge legislators, DC and Chairman DTF and its members extended their appreciation to the Committee led by Additional Deputy Commissioner HQ & Convenor Food Committee, Limanenla for their commendable job in managing the kitchen successfully thus far. Lauding their tireless efforts and dedication in managing the kitchen so far, the DTF however felt that at this juncture it will not be applicable to replace the committee members or the people involved in the kitchen to run the kitchen smoothly. The DTF has therefore requested the committee and all the police personnel involved in managing the kitchen to further continue their services and contributions till 31st July 2020.  The meeting also reiterated on the honorarium to be given to the police personnel and drivers who are engaged in managing the Bethel kitchen as decided earlier by the Empowered group.

      On the issue of quarantine facility centres in the district, the DTF discussed on the issue for maintaining only one quarantine centre and also discussed as to how to address the system once the proposed paid facility centre is implemented. 

       As requested by the para military forces for their leave returnees to be accommodated at the quarantine centres, the DTF decided that Block 21 to 24 have been earmarked for them at K. Badze Quarantine centre. 

       On the ongoing containment zones at Daklane, Jotsoma, Keziekie and AG upper colony, the chairman informed that active surveillance is on for early detection and also to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 infection in all the respective areas and lauded the medical team for their efforts in this tasks. CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu also informed that the containment zones is for a period of 28 days including 14 days of home quarantine, during which house to house surveillance as per SOP, thermal screening for influenza, fever, cough, diarrhoea and other suspected cases will be carried out by the medical teams in all the areas for onward submission of the report to the health agency.
