Keeping in line with the latest guidelines issued by the Ministry and the State Government on 4th May 2020, the Kohima District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 had its meeting in DC's Office chamber, Kohima today the 5th May 2020 to discuss and to come up with revised guidelines as to how best it can be implemented in the district.

Minister Tongpang apprised the members on the cabinet meeting held yesterday and pointed out that the most important thing for the district to work out at present was to firstly regulate and facilitate the movement of stranded persons in distress to their respective districts as per the inter district movement guidelines. Secondly to ascertain the number of stranded persons coming from outside the State to the district for further follow up action base on the guidelines to be issued by the Government, he said.
Noting that the whole State of Nagaland falls under Green Zone as per the criteria laid down by the Ministry of H&FW GoI, Tongpang said people coming from other districts within Nagaland to Kohima should be allowed to enter their respective villages and town and advised for 14 days - home quarantine.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS highlighted the last meeting decisions and invited for constructive suggestions to be incorporated in the revised guidelines and sought everyone's effort towards the successful implementation of the guidelines in the district.
In regard to taxi permit to ply within the Municipal areas of the district, the house decided to have a meeting with ANTA for further implementation of the movement with limited number of taxi at designated locations.
The meeting also decided to continue with the window period of shops opening timing from 7:00 A.M to 2:00 P.M with an addition of one more day i.e Saturdays to be included in the window period of shop opening during the lockdown period.
Further, the members also deliberated on issues in regard to essential commodity trucks plying on National Highways, setting up of Peducha Check gate, opening of petrol pumps, unauthorised vendors, function of lockdown measures in ward/colony levels and other issues pertaining to the lockdown measures. Taking note of all the issues and suggestions shared by the members, the DTF decided to issue revised guidelines base on assessment of the actual ground position to be imposed for stricter measures as per requirement of the district.
