The Kohima District Task Force on COVID-19 had its meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab A in his office chamber on 4th December 2020.

The meeting was convened basically to discuss and familiarise with the revised SOP issued on 25th November 2020 and special notification issued by the Health and Family welfare Department. 

Chairing the meeting, DC appreciated all the DTF members for being working effectively to contain the spread of Covid infection in the district. He informed that the vaccination is expected in the month of January 2021, where he expressed his optimism that the team has already started working in this connection for implementation of the exercise in the district.  He also informed that a District Level Committee will be constituted in this regard and hoped to work with collective efforts for successful implementation of this vaccination exercise.

Highlighting on the overall situation of the district, ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa informed that for the last two three days no returnees have been accommodated in K. Badze quarantine centre. She also informed that a total number of 20 deads including co- morbit diseases were reported so far in the district.

CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu also informed that as per the latest update a total of 248 were asymptomatic, 79 in Meriema Covid Care Centre and the rest in Home Isolation. She also informed that since October month more Covid positive cases have been reported in block levels also, therefore the medical team have increased field activities to Khuzama and Tseminyu areas and more awareness were also carried out in block levels.

MS NHAK, Visasie Kire further informed the members that there are 27 Covid patients in NHAK at present with Nil report in ventilator. Dr. Visasie also informed that the first Covid dead was reported on 23 September 2020 while five deads in October month and 14 deads in November making a total of 20 deads till date in the district.

DIO and Dy CMO, Dr. Rupert also informed the house that a mass testing for mostly vendors and mechanics in Merhülietsa colony was conducted on their request where 97 persons were tested and three persons were found to be positive.

Deliberating on the day's agenda, the meeting decided to include the President of AKMWP as member in the Kohima DTF on Covid. Proposal for exit plan of K. Badze Quarantine Centre for returnees, and quarantine centres for health workers after duties were also discussed however the matter was deferred to next meeting for further decission. On the implementation of wearing mask, Addl. SP Talisunep Imchen informed the house that challan has been issued in this regard and delicated the power to respective Officer in Charge of Police Stations for further implementation.
