Kohima District Task Force for COVID-19 Vaccination held its meeting at the DC's Conference Hall Kohima on 10th March 2021 under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DTF for Immunization Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS.
The Chairman welcoming the members acknowledged all concerned on the progress of ongoing Covid-19 vaccination in the district. He said that the district has been concentrating on the vaccination drive and as a result it has been receiving good number of people getting vaccination till date. He hoped that with the efforts put in by Chief Medical Officer, Kohima and her team in conducting sensitization programme on COVID-19 vaccination, more people will come forward in the coming days. Thejawelie further sought everyone's support and efforts to convince the people to get the vaccination when their time comes.
During the meeting, the DC also pointed out that repaired works undertaken at K. Badze Quarantine Centre and Meriema Covid Care Centre should be kept safely and further activities will be carried out as per the directive from the State Government. Meanwhile the meeting decided to inspect the buildings at K.Badze and other related issues on 15th March 2021.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo gave a PowerPoint presentation on the achievement of Kohima District COVID-19 vaccination. She highlighted that a total of 10,245 beneficiaries were vaccinated with a total of 143 sessions conducted till 9th March 2021 in the district, where 6,272 Front Line Worker (FLW) received their 1st dose and 193 have completed their 2nd dose. While 2,153 number of Health Care Worker (HCW) received their 1st dose and 1,217 received their 2nd dose. 374 beneficiaries of 60+ and 36 beneficiaries of 45 - 59 years with co-morbidities have been vaccinated till date.
Dr. Theyo also highlighted on the COVID-19 vaccination sensitization programme conducted for AWW, Administrative staff, Police, Home Guards and others at various locations under the district during the last few weeks. She further presented some photo slide of Legislatures and District Officials, central armed force, private hospital staffs, Nagaland police, above 60+ years of age, 45 to 59 years of age with Co-morbidities and FLW beneficiaries getting COVID-19 Vaccination recently.
PowerPoint presentation on the overview of next phase - COWIN 2.0 was also presented by SMO-WHO, Dr. Shila Longkumer where she highlighted on the eligible beneficiaries as follows: HCWs/FLWs specified by MoHFW, 60+ years of age and 45-59 years of age with Co-morbidities as on 1st Jan 2022. On Covid Vaccination Centres (CVCs), she highlighted that vaccination in Government Health Facilities will be free of charge while in Private health facilities will be on payment basis.
On the way forward of the next phase - COWIN 2.0, Dr. Shila presented on the plan to increase CVCs in phase manner - accessibility for rural areas; efforts to vaccinate pending HCWs & FLWs; strengthen AEFI Surveillance & response plan and to strengthen communication strategy. She further presented on some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) during her presentation.
