Kohima Law College officially launched the legal awareness campaign at the college premises in Kohima on 11th October 2021.
Assistant Professor, Kezhokhoto Savi, in-charge of legal clinical education/BCI Practical Papers officially launched the legal awareness campaign with the object to create better awareness to the citizens and educate the students targeting colleges. The legal awareness campaign is launched mainly for the LL.B VI semester students to participate with various topics such as Consumer Rights, Environment Protection, National Food Security Act, Food Safety and Standard Act, Lokayukta, Human Rights, Nagaland State Consumer Helpline with Tool Free No. 1800-345-0370, Public Service Delivery System, Article 371A of Indian Constitution, Rights of street vendors, etc. The LL.B final year students took part by way of presenting various topic as mentioned above in a limited time as part of preparation for the project which is also a very good exposure to them as they enter into legal professional practices in the near future.
Savi, who is also NVCO President, highlighted on the importance of conducting legal awareness campaign considering ‘Consumer Rights’ which is in dire need where the consumers are also to be educated with food safety and standard act & national food security act and more over the state government have to implement the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
