The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was officially launched at Indisen Village in Dimapur on November 15, 2023. The event featured Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, as the special guest.

The primary focus of the Yatra is to reach out to people, create awareness, and provide the benefits of various welfare schemes. These schemes encompass sanitation facilities, essential financial services, electricity connections, access to LPG cylinders, housing for the underprivileged, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, and clean drinking water. The Yatra also includes the enrolment of potential beneficiaries through details ascertained during its course.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) vans in Khunti, Jharkhand, marking the official commencement of the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.' The Yatra will initially cover districts with a significant tribal population and is slated to encompass all districts across the country by January 25, 2024.

Speaking on the program, the DC Dimapur stated that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, spanning from November 15, 2023, to January 26, 2024, aims to raise awareness through outreach activities to achieve the saturation of schemes. The initiative intends to spread awareness about the Government of India's schemes and is committed to ensuring that the benefits of flagship schemes reach the targeted beneficiaries at the grassroots level in a time-bound manner.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi actively participated in a program marking the celebration of the third Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, 2023 in Khunti, Jharkhand. During the event, the Prime Minister launched the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' and the Pradhan Mantri Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups Development Mission. He also released the 15th installment of PM-KISAN, and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects in Jharkhand.
