LAW & ORDER IN NAGALAND AMID COVID-19

The daily report on Law & Order from the State Home Department with regard to COVID-19 lockdown as stated by the Principal Secretary, Abhijit Sinha, IAS informed that there has been 1(one) violation of the lock down as on 27th May 2020. On remedial steps taken against the violations, he also stated that 1(one) person has been bound down and fines were imposed on 265(two hundred and sixty five) vehicles and added that Rs. 50,800 (fifty thousand eight hundred) was collected on that connection. However, the report said that no law & order incidents have been reported.

The report on of essential goods said that all shops for food grains and groceries/milk continue to be opened in all the districts except Mokokchung. Also, shops for medicine remain open in all the districts.

The movement of essential service providers like electricity/telecom facilities/ medical facilities, personnel or workers in manufacturing units, commercial vehicles for distribution of essential commodities and e-commerce agents have not been restricted in any part of the State.

It also informed that the suitable arrangements made for providing food and shelter to migrant workers affected by the COVID-19 restrictions remain to function the same. In this regard, there are 5(five) active relief camps where 15(fifteen) stranded migrant workers are housed. The report also added that are 2(two) active food camps where 242(two hundred and forty two) stranded workers were provided food.
