The Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) women department celebrated International Women's Day with the theme “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world” at the mission centre Church, Vankhosung, Wokha on 8th March 2021.
APRO, Bhandari, Lily Kikon speaking on the day's theme said that COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected progress of women around the world in several ways. Observing that it may take some time for the many disadvantaged women to settle back to self reliant lives once again, and to bridge the gender gap, she stressed on the need for both men and women in leadership roles to step up effort to help reshaping their lives for equal future.
Zuchobeni Ezong, President, Lotha Eloe Hoho, exhorted and urged the women to be source of strength to the society through their collective contributions and be agents of progress for a future without disparity.
Rev. M.C. Kithan former Executive Secretary, LBCA pronounced the prayer of blessings for the women and urged them to continue to live fruitful lives.
L. Meribeni Ngullie, Secretary, Women department, LBCA delivered the greetings speech. The programme was chaired by Mhabeni Tsopoe, Vice President, LBCA, Women Department.
