The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) successfully conducted a one-day Advocacy Workshop on Vector Borne Diseases on 8th July 2025 at the CMO Conference Hall.

The objective of the workshop was to sensitise and mobilise key stakeholders for effective prevention and control of vector-borne diseases, particularly in view of the monsoon season when cases typically rise.

Key participants included Town Council Members, Dobashis, Ward Presidents, and CSOs.

A technical presentation was delivered by Malaria Consultant, Nyumoi Phom, highlighting the burden of malaria and other vector-borne diseases in Longleng district.

Symptoms, transmission cycle, and diagnostic approaches. Preventive measures include the use of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs), indoor residual spraying (IRS), and environmental management.

Importance of prompt treatment-seeking behavioural and community surveillance. The interactive session enabled stakeholders to clarify doubts and share field-level challenges, which were addressed by the technical team.

CMO Longleng Dr. Tiasunep extended his gratitude to all participants for their valuable time and active engagement in making the workshop a success.
