LONGLENG DPDB MEETING HELD

In order to achieve cent-percent Covid-19 vaccination to the populace of the district, the District Planning and Development Board, Longleng took a strong resolution to bar entry of citizens to the banks and educational institutions or travel in any travel agency without Covid-19 vaccination. The decision was taken at the Longleng DPDP meeting held on 15th January 2022 at DC’s conference hall.

It will come into effect after the District Task Force (DTF) issues an order. It also resolved to conduct vaccination drive in all the educational institutions to cover all teachers & staff and students above 15 years of age. The board appealed to the citizens to vaccinate themselves before they are barred from availing the facilities to enter the bank, educational institutions or to travel in any travel agencies.

The board also discussed on traffic control management, sound pollution created by two wheelers and influx of illegal drugs in the district. In that regard, ADC Longleng, SDPO Longleng and President PPC spoke and pointed out suggestions for safety, improvement of traffic control management system and to control the influx of illegal drugs in the district.

Earlier, while welcoming the members, Deputy Commissioner Longleng M. Shayung Phom appealed to the government officers to be regular and available in their respective place of posting and attend all important meetings and programs personally without deputing their subordinate officials.  He warned that irregular officers will be viewed seriously and the matter would be reported to the higher ups.

Supplementing to the DC's appeal, President, Phom People's Council (PPC), Shami Angh reiterated the HoDs to be present in their posting place along with their staff. Shami also seek the coordination of both the government officers and NGOs for overall upliftment and peaceful atmosphere in the district. He said PPC is ready to extend cooperation to redress their problems.

Departmental activities were presented through a PowerPoint presentation by Water Resources Department. Soil & Water Conservation Department have been entrusted to present their activities in the next DPDP meeting. Work distribution for upcoming Republic Day celebration 2022 was also done during the planning board meeting.
