The Lotha Eloe Hoho organised a Covid-19 awareness campaign at town hall, Bhandari on 5th August 2021.
Speaking at the programme, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhandari, Tiameren Chang, NCS thanked the district administration, medical fraternity under CMO Wokha and all the stake holder departments for the support rendered to Bhandari sub-division during the Covid-19 pandemic and added that their support made it possible for Bhandari sub-division to be one of the most efficient blocks.
Being a vast inter-state bordering area, the sub-division of Bhandari needs extra effort to render the desired health services to the public at such a challenging time, he observed. Chang called on the frontline workers, asha and health workers to encourage the public at the grassroots level through correct information, sensitization and awareness to dispel the fear of testing and vaccination for Covid-19, in order to secure health safety for all.
Speaking on efficacy and safety of Covid-19 vaccination, Chumdemo Kikon UNDP, CMO Wokha, the campaign speaker emphasized on the need of the public to educate oneself with the right information rather than being misled by rumors generated from wrong sources as it creates negativity, fear and hesitancy in the mind of the people.
He also assured that just like any other vaccines such as measles, chickenpox or rubella vaccines, all required steps of clinical trials and tests have been completed during the process of development of any vaccine for human health safety.
Lauding the participation of women in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in different capacities, President, Lotha Eloe Hoho, Zuchobeni Ezong, stated that the role of women for a strong, secure and progressive society in the present time is very important and called upon them to remain active and resourceful for the society and to continue to contribute their valuable services to contain the pandemic. She also thanked the Eloe Hoho Bhandari unit for rendering logistic support for the campaign.
