Makeshift District Hospital Longleng was dedicated today (14 April) by Beau Phom, Pastor Longleng Town Baptist Church in the presence of the Guest Speaker, M. Shayung Phom Deputy Commissioner, Longleng at Bautung Higher Secondary School, Longleng.
In his short speech the Deputy Commissioner lauded the doctors, nurses and medical staff of District Hospital and CMO office Longleng who have been working relentlessly for the safety and well being of the people. He asserted that despite shortage of manpower, experts and medical equipment they have been trying to make its own best system with the available resources to provide best health care services to the people.
The DC appealed to all the frontline workers combating COVID-19 to rededicate in their respective profession and cater to the needs of the people. He informed that the district administration and Police along with the Medical Department and government officials are busy constantly visiting villages especially in the interstate and district border to take stock of the situation. Shayung also acknowledged the cooperation and support extended by the government agencies and civil societies to the district administration, Police and Medical department to combat COVID-19 in the district and seek more cooperation and support in the task ahead.
Earlier, pastor Beau Phom, Longleng Town Baptist Church dedicated the Makeshift Hospital Longleng.The program concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Lhouvizotuo Belho, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Longleng who thanked all those who have contributed and assist the Medical department in various ways. The program was chaired by Dr. Bongnau Phom.
The Makeshift Hospital at Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, Longleng was made functional after the dedication program was concluded. Since the district hospital Longleng was converted to COVID-19 patients the citizens of Longleng have been informed to visit and avail medical services at the makeshift hospital at Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, Longleng from now on.
