A mass social work held across Kohima district on 21st June 2025 saw enthusiastic participation from various sectors, including the District Administration, Police, district-level offices, the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI), and the general public.

The social work initiative covered various road stretches in Kohima, with all departments divided into multiple groups to ensure proper coverage. The event was supervised by Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Chairman and MLA Kevipodi Sophie, DC Kohima B. Henok Buchem (NCS), and SP Kohima Teisovise Metha (NPS), who personally oversaw the activities and encouraged participants across the city.

Under the leadership of the KCCI, business owners and shopkeepers in the main town area actively participated by cleaning the premises and surroundings of their establishments.

Residents of various wards and colonies across the district also joined the initiative, cleaning and clearing garbage from public spaces and streets.

All collected waste was systematically transported and disposed of at the Kohima Municipal Council's designated dumping site at Meriema, ensuring that no waste was left behind on the roadsides.
