A one-day media workshop 'Vartalap' was held at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on 18th March 2023 with the theme on “Skill India and Digital India”. The program was organised by the PIB Kohima, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Director, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Kovi Meyase, and Joint Director, Information & Public Relations, I.Simon Teilia, were the special guest and guest of honour respectively.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Meyase stated that with improved digital literacy, resources and infrastructure, the distance between the Government and its citizens is providing a transparent and efficient delivery of governance. He said that under the PMKVY, the flagship programme has developed upskill and improve employability and earning.

            Guest of honour, Simon Teilia stated that, media should cultivate the essence of truthfulness and transparency while reporting. He also added that they should do away with the old style of news for news sake but also act as a watchdog, which is the need of the hour.
