K. S. Anden Konyak, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary of the Department of Urban Development & Agency (DUDA) and the designated Electoral Roll Observer for Phek District, presided over a meeting on the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls. The meeting took place at the DC's conference hall in Phek on November 22, 2023.
Addressing the attendees, the Electoral Roll Observer emphasized the Election Commission's serious consideration of the current revision of the Electoral Roll. He urged political parties to collaborate with election officials, highlighting the importance of their cooperation in all election-related activities. The Observer stressed the significance of appointing Booth Level Agents (BLAs) by political parties and encouraged them to support Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the verification of electors. Additionally, he called upon all concerned officials to exert sincere efforts in removing deceased voters to maintain a clean and healthy Electoral Roll. He urged ethical conduct, envisioning the district as a role model for others.
The meeting, chaired by DC & DEO Phek, Kuko Mero, NCS, was attended by Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) from five Assembly Constituencies in the district, Supervisors of BLOs, Administrative Officers, BLOs, and representatives from various political parties.
