A meeting to discuss the implementation of the "Amrit Kalash Yatras" campaign in the state was convened at the Chief Secretary Conference Hall Kohima. The meeting took place on September 14, 2023, and was chaired by Chief Secretary J. Alam, IAS.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary Alam emphasized that the "Amrit Kalash Yatras" campaign, launched on September 1, 2023, pays tribute to the brave hearts who dedicated their lives to the nation. He stressed the crucial role of public participation in ensuring the success of this campaign.

Principal Secretary of Home, Abhijit Sinha, IAS, briefed the officials about the campaign. According to Sinha, volunteers from 74 blocks and 16 Urban Local Bodies will carry soil or rice in urns from every household in the villages. This soil and rice will be brought to the Blocks and eventually transported to the State capital, Kohima. After a special function in Kohima, the soil and rice will be taken to Delhi, where an 'Amrit Vatika' will be constructed near the National War Memorial using the fused soil and rice.

The meeting was attended by various officials, including Deputy Commissioner Sachin Jaiswal, IAS, from Dimapur; ADC Dimapur, Mhalo Humtsoe; Administrator of Dimapur Municipal Council, W Manpai Phom; Project Director of District Rural Development Agency, Moa Sangtam; and Youth Resource Officer from Dimapur, Khriekelhoü Kense. Some of these officials participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
