The School of Excellence in Skill Development (SoESD) was established at Govt. Hr. Secondary School, Zubza through an MoU signed amongst the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (DESDE), Department of School Education (DoSE), and National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT). The SoESD was set up to develop IT competencies, create awareness about cyber security and safety, and prepare young students from classes VIII to X for the future of work.

In this regard, a meeting was held on 30th March 2023 amongst the three stakeholders represented by Kovi Meyase, NCS, Additional Secretary & Ex-Officio Director, DESDE, Lanuwapang, Director, NIELIT, and Visashielie Suohu, Headmaster, GHSS, Zubza to develop a roadmap on initiating the skilling activities at SoESD. It was decided that level 1 courses for class VIII students will begin on 10th April 2023. To promote optimum utilization of the SoESD, NIELIT has agreed to train two batches of 40 candidates in CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) course for the unemployed youths and students who have appeared in their class X & XII exams at the SoESD. Further, a one-week training for teaching faculty is also scheduled to be conducted at SoESD. Lastly, students at SoESD will be taken to NIELIT on 4th April 2023 to promote experiential learning.
