The District Planning & Development Board, Meluri, held its monthly meeting on 6th October 2026 at the DB’s Court, DC Office, Meluri, under the chairmanship of the Advisor, NSDMA & Inland Waterways, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe.

Welcoming the members and officials present, the Chairman reviewed the agenda and action points of the previous DPDB meeting. The meeting discussed various developmental and administrative matters concerning Meluri District.

The representatives of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) were asked to provide an update on the ongoing road works from Akash Bridge towards Akhegwo for about 16 km. The members expressed concern over the poor condition of the road and urged the NHIDCL representatives to look into the matter and take necessary measures for improvement.

ADC Meluri, Shelly Katiry, NCS, also expressed concern over the condition of the road stretch from Akash Bridge towards Akhegwo. He stated that the stretch had been inspected by the Road Safety Committee, but the condition of the road was found to be very poor. The Pochury Hoho also expressed dissatisfaction over the condition of the NHIDCL road and urged the concerned authority to address the issue at the earliest.

The meeting also discussed a request from the Meluri Sports Association, whose President appealed to all departments under Meluri District to extend financial contributions towards sports activities and development.

On administrative matters, the ADC Meluri pointed out that, with the election approaching, the district is still without a strong room. He requested that the matter be looked into and necessary arrangements be made at the earliest.

The Chairman also urged Heads of Offices to safeguard their respective departmental offices and requested that No Objection Certificates (NOCs) should not be issued for any proposal that may affect or compromise departmental office premises, in order to protect government office infrastructure and ensure its continued use for official purposes.

EAC Meluri, Kum, Pipfusa pojar gave a PowerPoint presentation on election-related matters, highlighting the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in Nagaland. She briefed the members on the objectives and process of SIR, voter enrolment, verification of electoral details and the importance of ensuring that all eligible citizens are included in the electoral roll.
