Various villages under five blocks in Kohima and ULBs participated in the nationwide "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign, a culmination of the celebration of the 75th year of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav in Kohima district. The campaign paid tribute to the heroes who made ultimate sacrifices for the nation. Different activities were organized across villages under five blocks, including hoisting the National flag, singing the National Anthem, taking the Panch Pran Pledge with soil in hand, planting 75 saplings, installing Shilaphalakam (memorial plaques), and honoring retired soldiers.
At Sakhabama under RD Block Jakhama, SDO (Civil) Jakhama, Nockpai Konyak, emphasized that the event aimed to honor the courageous martyrs of the nation who laid down their lives for the country. Notable highlights included the Youth President, Kikozo Pruzo, administering the Panch Pran Pledge, unveiling the Shilaphalakam (Memory Plaque Stone) by Vilopi Angami, BDO Jakhama Block, and tree planting activities.
