Pfutsero Town Council in collaboration with District Administration, Phek organised the culminating event of 75 years of India's Independence, Azadi ka Amrit Mahostav (AKAM), and launching ceremony of Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign at Pfutsero Sports Complex on 12th August 2023.

ADC Pfutsero, Nchumbemo, NCS unveiled the memorial plague and unfurled the National Flag. National Anthem was presented by Government Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero followed by administering of Panch Pran pledge and planting of saplings. A minute silence was also observed in respect of the brave soldiers who laid their lives for the nation. The programme was attended by Government officials, town council members, students from various School and colony leaders.
