Yimchunger Tribal Council along with NGOs of Pungro Sub-Division celebrated Metumnyo festival at Pungro Town on 8th August 2021.

The significance of Metumnyo festival was delivered by Head DB, Luthong, where he stated that Metumnyo is a combination of the words, “Me” meaning "Soul", "Tum" meaning “Wrap” and "Nyo" meaning “fest”, which in short means Soul wrapping festival.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC Pungro, Abhinav Shivam, IAS exhorted the gathering to maintain peace, unity and tranquility for progress and development of its region.

The programme was chaired by YTC Secretary, K. Sirongthong. Welcome address was delivered by Executive Chairman, YTC Makezho while words of gratitude was pronounced by Convener Local Festival Committee, V. Shellen.
