Minister of Health & Family Welfare, P. Paiwang during his tour to Mon visited the District Hospital Mon Hq. on 11th April 2023. He appreciated and congratulated the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff for handling the situation excellently during the Covid pandemic. He said that he was well aware of this hospital since he was in charge of Mon District during Covid time. He also assured taking the responsibility for whatever issues the Medical Superintendent highlighted.

He requested the officers, Doctors, and staff to utilize the internet facilities and added that he plans to provide serviceable laptops to CMO and Medical Superintendent very soon for video conferences to share their problems and grievances.

Commissioner Secretary of Health & Family Welfare said District Hospital Mon is one of the best Hospitals in terms of infrastructure. He appreciated the work of MSF. He said WHO, under the sustainable development Board, plans to eradicate Tuberculosis by 2030, and India to eliminate it by 2025, five years ahead, whereas India is having the maximum number of TB cases in the World and there are 4000 plus TB patients in Nagaland and Mon is the highest. He also requested, the Doctors, Nurses, Officers, and netizens of Mon to cooperate in the Construction of the Medical College Mon.

            The Principal Director of Health & Family Welfare appreciated all the team members led by the CMO, MS, and all the Hospital staff. She said that the ICU facility in District Hospital Mon will be functioning very soon. About the shortage of manpower, she assured them to look into the matter at the earliest. She encouraged Doctors and Nurses to continue lending their services.

CMO Mon gave a brief description of District Hospital Mon and also of Mon District. She shared the grievances like shortage of manpower not only in District Hospital Mon but also at the outpost of Mon district.

Later in the afternoon, Minster of Health & Family Welfare, P. Paiwang, accompanied by the Commissioner Secretary, Principal Director, and a host of Officials of Health & Family Welfare visited the construction site of Medical College Mon.
