Minister for Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse graced the Golden Jubilee celebration of Khezhakeno Welfare Society Kohima as the special guest at NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima on 14th October 2023.
Speaking at the celebration, Kruse extended her greetings and congratulated the Khezhakeno Welfare Society Kohima on reaching 50 years of existence. She stated that Khezhakeno Village is a well-known village among the Nagas with many tribes believed to have migrated from the village. She expressed her happiness that the village and its people are prospering in all fields of life and added that they are one of the most blessed communities.
Minister Kruse said that there is a lot of potential in farming and called upon the gathering to scale up production to meet the demand in the market. She also highlighted the need to use scientific methods and machinery while farming. She asked the people to approach the Government for support in this matter.
The Minister asked the people to unite and work together for the upliftment of the society. She also called for peace to prevail in society and to live in harmony with everyone.
MLA, Dr. Neisatuo Mero speaking on the occasion congratulated the Khezhakeno Welfare Society Kohima on reaching the milestone and also appreciated the pioneers of the welfare society. He added that the present generation was reaping what the forefathers have sown. He also called upon the gathering to follow the footprints of their ancestors in the modern world with examples such as oneness and togetherness.
Mero urged the youth to give their best to the society. He also asked the government employees, wherever they are posted, to work sincerely for the government and the people. He called on the people to work together to take the community forward.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Nagaland, Dharmendra Prakash also gave a short speech on the occasion. He shared his own experiences he had with Khezhakeno village. He asked the community to continue conserving the forest and its resources. Prakash also called on the people to continue the old-age practices of respecting the elders, community participation, etc.
Chairman of Kohima Village Council, Helievio Solo while delivering greetings stated that the jubilee celebration was a test of strength of brotherhood. He also stressed the need for harmonious co-existence.
Kevekha Kevin Zehol, NCS, who chaired the programme, highlighted the history of the village and the Khezhakeno Welfare Society Kohima. President. Khezhakeno Welfare Society Kohima, Kevechűpe Pfűno delivered the welcome address.
