Moatsu, the premier festival of the Ao Nagas began at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on 1st May 2023, organized by the Ao Senden.

Gracing the occasion as the Guest of Honour, MLA, Nuklutoshi in his address while sharing Moatsu greetings called upon the people to introspect in aspect of the community in order to prepare themselves to carry forward the dreams and aspirations which their predecessors worked and aspired for the people.

He also called upon the people to unit and fight against all the negativisms in the society in order to move forward as a progressive society. Lamenting about the loss of local values, he gave a clarion call to the community to preserve the costume and values of our tradition.

Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Sashank Pratap Singh, IAS, addressing the gathering said that their hard work is accepted and rewarded in the form of bountiful harvest. He also mentioned that it is a time to rejuvenate, recreate and accept God’s blessings after a hard labour and a time of community bonding.

Highlights of the first day programme included Inter-Ward competition of Tug-of War (Men, Women), Pole Climbing and Bamboo stilt walk.
