District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team conducted a mock drill at Niuland on 6thApril, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Niuland & Chairman DDMA, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS.

The mock drill exercise was conducted assuming the scenario of an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 Richter striking Niuland at 12:00PM. Immediately after the disaster alarm was alerted, Emergency Operation Centre was activated. Thereafter, various agencies such as operation section, logistic section and planning sections were communicated. The personnel from NDRF and DDMA were pressed into action and different rescue operation system was displayed.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commandant NDRF, Deputy Commandant CTI HGCD- SDRF, Dimapur and Consultant NSDMA as observers witnessed the entire mock drill event and acknowledged the professionalism displayed by the personnel involved in the mock drill.
