Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting for July was held at Deputy Commissioner Office Conference Hall Mokokchung on 21st July 2022 under the chairmanship of DC & Vice Chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS.

The Board while reviewing the minutes of the last DPDB meeting concluded that the problem of poor network/service (BSNL Telecom) in Mokokchung was lack of maintenance at the Micro station due to a land dispute, the matter has been resolved with a new MOU signed with Deputy Commissioner as the witness. Regarding the translation of the Nagaland Village Council Act, 1978 Document to the local dialect, a committee has been set up to submit a report by Sept. 2022. Concerning water supply in Mokokchung town, the board decided to constitute a Water Task Force. Report from the Livelihood Project Phase-1 states, the distribution of 3,000 nos. of chickens to 30 beneficiaries from 26, 27, and 28 A/C under the Mokokchung district with phases II & III to follow.

An official from H&FW Department, reporting on the COVID-19 status in Mokokchung, said at present there are two active cases and the overall vaccination headcount in the district is 90% first dose and 80% second dose.

The board recommended the opening of Kids Ark Academy, Alichen, Longkhum village, Valley View Academy, Longlilenden ward, Tuli, and recognition of Green Hills Academy, Chuchuyimlang with the up-gradation of classes from class-7 to class-10.

The board verified & recommended the following societies for registration, Grateful Giving Society, Mangkolemba village, Green Hills Farm Society, Satsu village, Rus Irriguus Society, Mangmetong village, Creative Mythos Society, Sangtemla ward, and Arju Society, Mokokchung.

On the proposal for the construction of the Health Sub-Center at New Yaongyimti village, the board directed the village council to take up the issue with concerned authorities in the state Government.

The Deputy Commissioner also urged all the members to maintain no single-use plastic zone in their respective office premises to make a cleaner Mokokchung district.
