CHUMOUKEDIMA:

The 2nd Common Teachers' Day celebration for Chumoukedima District was a momentous occasion held on September 5th, 2023, at the Chumoukedima Town Council Hall, Chumoukedima. The event was graced by the presence of ADC Medziphema, P. James Swu.

In his address, Swu paid tribute and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the entire teaching community. He quoted the words of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, emphasizing that "Teachers are the backbone of any nation, the pillars upon which all aspirations are transformed into reality." He spoke about how teachers open up countless opportunities for students, guide them toward fulfilling lives, inspire them to bring out their best, and ultimately serve the country.

Swu emphasized that while parents give birth to a child, teachers provide them with knowledge, shape their personalities, and pave the way for a brighter future. Teachers are the silent heroes who tirelessly dedicate themselves to nurturing the minds of generations to come. 

He acknowledged that great teachers are the managers of the world's most precious resource the youth. Swu noted that behind every successful person, there is always a good teacher, and many stories revolve around the good teachers who guided, helped, and molded individuals into who they are today. 

During the event, the Guest of Honor presented the State Teachers' Award to two deserving teachers: Enzenbeni Lotha from GHS Diphupar-B and L. Hangsing Kuki from GHS Medziphema.

Program Highlights includes invocation by Chaplain PCC, Rev. Dr. Vichukho Nyekha; welcome address delivered by SDEO (DEO I/C), Jevika Kiba; special song by GHS, Naga United Village; significance of the day explained by President ANAPSA, Bendang Chuba; special performance by St. Savio High School; choreography by GHS, Chumoukedima Village; ode to teachers by Nagaland Police Central School and vote of thanks delivered by SDEO, Dhansiripar, Nmyamo Jami.
