DC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has informed on 30th April 2020 that in view of the reported outbreak of the "African Swine Fever" and high mortality of pigs in the neighboring states; it is hereby notified that import of pigs from outside the State is banned under Kohima district jurisdiction with immediate effect

The Directorate of School Education has notified for the information of all concerned that the Department of School Education would commence telecast of Video lessons on important subjects in classes 8,9,10 and 12 through Doordarshan, Kohima from 1st May 2020 for compensating the loss of instructional days caused due to the ongoing Lockdown. The lessons will also be broadcasted through All India Radio (AIR) from 2nd May 2020.

Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha IASin the Law & Order report on COVID-19 as on 29th April 2020 has stated that 30 persons have violated the lock down. 34 persons were bound down with find imposed under MV Act- Rs, 25.600/- and 130 vehicles have been seized. The Home Department has issued an advisory in Connection to Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Notification NO.AHV/NPVCP/59/2019, dated 28.04.2020, whereby a ban on import of Pigs has been imposed throughout the State, in view of the outbreak of African Swine Fever in neighbouring States.
