On the 6th day of the Hornbill festival, Cultural Extravaganza under the theme; 'Cultural Connect' organised by the Department of Art & Culture was held at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on 6th  December 2023.

 Ambassador of Japan, HE Hiroshi Suzuki graced the programme as the Chief Guest. He said Japan and Nagaland has long standing historical facts which caused all the way to second world war. He also expressed his gratitude over the generosity of the Naga people for extending the Japanese people to come here after the war to collect the weapons. He hoped to build up more cooperation and relationship between Japan and Nagaland. Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse was the Host while Advisor, Information  Technology & Communication, Economics & Statistics and Evaluation Sethrongkyu and MLA, Lima Onen Chang as Co-host.

 Different cultural troupes from various tribes of Nagaland participated in the cultural programme with their cultural songs and dances. The cultural troupes included;

Sangtam cultural troupes performed Tsahku Nyi-Nying (Butterfly dance), Chang Cultural Troupes presented Young girls games with Wei (Saponaria/wild nut), Khiamniungan cultural troupes performed Chi Shangyih (folk song), Lotha cultural troupes performed Tyurhu Ejumta, Pochury cultural troupes presented Shkvüdow (Warriors dance), Angami cultural troupes presented Tati Khwe (Folk song with action), Tikhir cultural troupes performed Tsin Tsuyok Tsin (Men's folk dance), Zeliang Cultural Troupes presented Ginei Kepung (folk song) and Kachari cultural troupes performed Na Gwrnai Mwsanai (folk song). The Chief Guest also visited the stall of the Department of Industries & Commerce at Bamboo Pavilion. 

The Afternoon Session witnessed the presence of Chief Commissioner, GST & Customs, North East Region, Bandhana Deori, IRS who graced the programme as the Chief Guest while Minister, Housing and Mechanical Engineering, P. Bashanmongba Chang as the host and Advisor, Law & Justice and Land Revenue,  T.N. Mannen, Retd. IAS and MLA, Dr. Sukhato A. Sema as the Co-host. 

The Cultural troupes from various tribes included Ao, Chakhesang, Konyak, Kuki, Rengma, Sumi, Phom, Garo and Yimkhiung performed their cultural ethnicity in the session.
