The Nagaland government on 14th November 2022 participated in this year's India International Trade Fair (IITF).
The Theme of this year's IITF, a mega annual attraction in Delhi, is "Vocal for Local, Local to Global".
As many as 14 counters have been set up in the Nagaland Pavillion which was formally inaugurated by Director Industries and Commerce, Vitsutho Nyuthe.
Interacting with journalists on the occasion, he said, "For the last two years the IITF was not held due to Covid, and hence this year's participation is important...I am encouraged to see that despite time constraints the participants have shown much enthusiasm and opened their counters at the Nagaland Pavillion".
With nearly 2500 exhibitors from India and abroad, IITF 2022 is being held in a total area of 73,000 sq. mtrs.
Nagaland has rented a 100 sq meters area on the First Floor of Hall No. 3 at the famous Pragati Maidan.
Maharashtra, Bihar, and Jharkhand are Partner States for IITF 2022 while Uttar Pradesh and Kerala are the Focus States. Twenty-nine States & Union Territories are participating.
The UT of Leh is participating in the prestigious show for the first time and also has overseas participation from many countries.
Sharing the sentiment of the Director, Asenla Walling, Pavillion Director of the Department, said, "I am personally indebted to all participants from Nagaland. Various Nagaland Handloom and food products are on display and I am sure all of them will go back with fair knowledge of such mega shows and at such a scale".
Besides Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) individual entrepreneurs and enthusiastic youths are participating in this year's IITF.
The extravaganza will continue till November 27 and participants from remote areas such as Longleng, Meluri, Zunheboto, and Tseminyu exuded confidence that they will record brisk business.
This year, the fair assumes a special significance as it coincides with celebrations of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’- 75 years of India’s Independence. Importantly, IITF offers an ideal platform to showcase indigenous and traditional products from far-flung regions and states under the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign.
This is expected to infuse renewed confidence and vigour in the Indian and Naga economies.

The three villages, Lotisa (Old), Mapulu, and Lotisa (New) under the banner Lotisa Mapulu Lotisa new Welfare organized the Ahuna festival under the theme "Kuqhano Mulani" (Together We Strive) at Lotisa (Old) with Dy. General Manager NHHDC Ltd. Katovi Chishi as special guest.
The programme was chaired by Lotisa Mapulu Lotisa New Welfare chairman Er. Hukato L. Chishi followed by the invocation by Shikiho Pastor Lotisa (New), after hosting the LMLW flag, the guest speaker thanked the organizers for taking these steps to prove that the three neighboring villages should shoulder the same responsibilities to show the unity among them.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Vihuto Chishi GB Lotisa (Old) followed by War Dance from Mapulumi village. Nikuto Chophi GB of Lotisa (new) takes a note on a vote of thanks.
Cultural items presented by the three villages include SHELUPA KICHE, ANGU KUPUSU, AKUPUXA , LEJOLE by the Men and Women of the three villages. The programme concluded with the benediction prayer by Associate Pastor Women from Mapulumi.
