The Nagaland State Level Science Drama Competition (SLSDC) was held at the Innovation Hub in the Nagaland Science Centre, Dimapur, on October 27, 2023. This year's competition was conducted under the theme "Science & Technology for the Benefit of Mankind."

            The top honor at the Nagaland SLSDC-2023 was clinched by Little Star Higher Secondary School in Dimapur. As a result, the school will represent the state at the Zonal Level, specifically the North-East Zone Science Drama Competition. The Zonal event is scheduled to take place on November 24, 2023, at the Regional Science Centre in Guwahati.

            The competition was graced by Bendang Walling, a prominent theater practitioner, and filmmaker, who is an alumnus of the National School of Drama in New Delhi. He is also the Artistic Director of Hill Theatre in Nagaland and served as the Special Guest and Chief Judge of the event.

The Science Drama Competition is an annual event held nationwide, with the primary objective of showcasing the creative talents of young participants. It serves as a platform for using drama as a powerful medium to address socio-scientific issues of contemporary relevance in society. The competition begins at the state level, advances to the regional level, and culminates at the national level, known as the National Science Drama Festival (NSDF), which is organized and managed by the National Council of Science Museums.

            The Nagaland SLSDC is sponsored and organized by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Nagaland.
