In Longleng, the 13th National Voters' Day was held at the DPDB conference hall on 25th January 2023.

The National Voters' Day speech was delivered by Trongdiba Tongpi, SDO Civil & Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Longleng, and Dr. Mahabir Jha, Asstt. Prof. Yingli College.

Congratulating the best BLO awardees, Trongdiba acknowledged the efforts rendered by the BLOs to have a clean and genuine Electoral Roll to conduct free and fair elections in the district. The SDO also urged the young registered voters to be an agent of change and set a good example by casting their vote fearlessly without being influenced by others. He also administered the voter's pledge to the gathering.

Dr. Mahabir Jha spoke on the significance of observing the day and appealed to the gathering to exercise their franchise to choose an efficient leader for change and development of the nation. He also spoke on negative aspects of democracy in India and urged the participants to uphold the democratic traditions of our country.

Best BLO awardee Shumei Antony 50 A/C Longleng also spoke on behalf of the BLOs of the district and encouraged the gathering to bring changes in society through the power of voting rights.

Earlier, the best BLO award was presented by AEO, Longleng Lungkupe, and invocation by Imkong DB. The programme was chaired by Mensang, UDA Election office, and culminated with a vote of thanks by Samuel Akho Konyak, EAC, Longleng.

Young registered voters along with officials were present during the observation of National Voters' Day in Longleng.
