National Voters’ Day was observed at DC’s Conference Hall, Noklak on 25th January 2023 under the theme “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure” which was organised by the Noklak District Administration.

In his address, Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Noklak, K. Mhathung Tsanglao while encouraging the new voters, stated that, they have become a  part of the decision making and urged them to vote wisely in order to elect the right person. He emphasized on the importance of voting where every voters are equally important and called upon the voter not to be influenced by inducement and encouraged them to vote with a conscious mind. 

While appreciating the district icons namely PwDs, senior citizens and campus ambassador, he requested them to be an example and to be responsible for all electoral processes.

The DC also gave away the Best BLO award during the function. The awardees were Shangmo, Primary teacher GMS Nokhu and P. Shou, primary teacher GPS Kingniu from 56th and 57th Assembly Constituencies. The DC also felicitated the first time voters during the occasion.

The Deputy Commissioner also gave away the prize of “Selfie with District Icons” competition under SVEEP Campaign. The first prize was won by   Yenkham (with District Icon Senior Citizens) and Niuwon P (with District Icon PwD).

District PwD Icon & President NDDAPA, Heno and District Senior Citizens Icon & President Pensioners Union, Noklak Thangsoi also spoke during the occasion.

The programme was chaired by EAC Noklak, Kathyinla while vote of thanks was proposed by Assistant Programmer, Election Department, Noklak, Sentimeren Jamir.

Meanwhile, as part of the SVEEP campaign, District Administration, Noklak in collaboration with Dreamer’s Production organized  a Street Play on ‘Ethical Voting’  at Police Point, Noklak Town on 25th January 2023.
