With the launching of the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) on 14th October 2022, a Press conference was held at the Conference Hall of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat under the Chairmanship of Minister of Planning & Co-ordination, Land Revenue & Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu.
Briefing the media Neiba Kronu said that as committed in the Nagaland Sustainable Development Goal Vision 2030, to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages by providing equitable, affordable, and quality healthcare services to the people of the state, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio launched the Health Insurance Scheme to provide free and cashless treatment for various ailments to all citizens of the State.
Kronu also said that beneficiary enrolment and Ayushman CMHIS Card generation are crucial for the empowerment of every beneficiary to the benefits entitlement under the Scheme and therefore, appealed to all Government Officials, Civil Societies, Church and Faith-Based Organizations, and Community leaders to create awareness among the public for timely registration, obtain the Ayushman Card and utilize the benefits services from various impaneled hospitals.
Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner Senti Yanger at the press briefing said that the reach of health care will be more with the launch of the scheme since private hospitals be part of the package and all citizens will be able to avail the best healthcare facility outside the state as well as within the state.
He also added that cards will be made available to the citizen at the earliest so that everyone in need of healthcare can start reaping the benefits of the scheme.
He stated that by default all district hospitals in the state will be empanelled and the people residing in the remotest of areas across the state can now avail the healthcare facility with the CMHIS card.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Development Commissioner, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, IAS, Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Asangla Imti and Deputy Director, Health & Family Welfare Dr. Kika Longkumer also attended the press briefing.
