Capital Cultural Hall was inaugurated by Chief Minister, Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio on 1st December 2021 at Kohima.

Speaking as the Special Guest, Neiphiu Rio stated that the proposal for the construction of the building was initiated since he took over as Chief Minister of the State, adding that it came a long way for the completion of this kind of world class building as funding was not available. He also reminded that few years ago, Nagaland State was rated as ‘Worst City for Habitation’ since there were no good facilities for tourists coming to the state and he shared his hope that this would become the pride of the State, utilising all the potentials for large gatherings of church conventions, public functions and for the general people.

Highlighting a technical report, CEO, Kohima Smart City Development Ltd. Er. K. Theunuo said that the hall had been constructed with a seating capacity of 1800, exhibition halls, conference hall with 150 seating capacity, restaurant with pantry, dedicated basement parking facility for 40 cars and many other facilities. 

Earlier, the special guest also unveiled a monolith. The programme was chaired by Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs and State Mission Director SCM, I. Himato Zhimomi, short speech was delivered by Advisor, Urban Development Ltd. Dr. Neikiesalie Kire and invocation prayer was offered by Pastor, Union Baptist Church Kohima, Rev.Dr. Rachiilie Vihienuo.
