The newly upgraded boys’ hostel, Yingli College, Longleng was inaugurated on 15th November 2021 with Director, Higher Education, Dr. Apeni Lotha as special guest. The hostel is constructed through Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (National Higher Education Mission) by the Department of Higher Education, Nagaland.
Dr. Apeni Lotha expressed hope that the hostel will be properly utilized for the further extension of higher education in that part of the state. She encouraged the students, teachers, non-teaching staff and the land donors of the college to give their best for uplifting higher education in the district. She also handed over to the Principal a sum of Rupees one lakh only to be used for the accreditation purpose of the college and a sum of Rupees thirty thousand only for the overall arrangement made for the success of the programme. The special guest appreciated the college for properly maintaining the college infrastructures and campus. She hoped that the college will do well in the fourth coming NAAC accreditation.
Joint Director, Higher Education & State Project Director, Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Menuokholie Kire spoke on the implementation of the RUSA project in the college. He also shared that the hostel was used as a Covid Quarantine Centre for the people of Longleng district. Chairman, Bhumnyΰ Village Council, S. Angam Phom gave a short speech. Folk dance and folk song were also performed by the students during the programme.
Principal, Yingli College, Dr. T. Temsu Imti delivered welcome address while vote of thanks was pronounced by the college Vice Principal, Dr. B. Henshet Phom. The Programme was chaired by Asst. Prof., Dr. Vizolenuo Sophie and Pastor, Bhumnyΰ Baptist Church, Rev. N. Mongmei Phom offered the dedicatory prayer. Evangelical Union students of Yingli College presented the college anthem.
